- No Mow May
No Mow May is a community science initiative that encourages property owners to limit lawn mowing practices during the month of May to provide early season foraging resources for pollinators that emerge in the spring, especially in urban landscapes when few floral resources are available.
The Vadnais Heights City Council approved a resolution in support of No Mow May at its April, 19, 2022.

No Mow May is an optional, opt-in activity for residents wishing to participate. The City has identified some public spaces where mowing will be suspended in May; rental facilities and some other high-use facilities will continue to be mowed.
Heading into June, property owners will need to return to more conventional mowing practices to come back into compliance with City Code. Cutting your lawn back all at once might have detrimental effects - find more information and tips for a healthy lawn!
