Train

Canadian Pacific Railway

The Canadian Pacific Railway runs through the northwest corner of Vadnais Heights. This area is considered a "Quiet Zone" and is covered by a 24-hour whistle ban, however the trains will still blow their whistle if they believe they are in danger. Train whistles are the most important public safety mechanism available to train engineers. Whistles are purposely loud so they catch the attention of those nearby and alert people a train is coming.

General concerns can be directed to  the Canadian Pacific’s Community Connect Line e-mail or visit their website to fill out their contact form. If you have a complaint about a whistle violation, this email is where you should submit the complaint.

Minnesota Commercial Railway

The Minnesota Commercial Railway runs through southern Vadnais Heights. This railroad operates out of the St. Paul area with service to Minneapolis, Bayport, Hugo, Fridley and New Brighton.
